Using Google Maps, Strava, MapMyRide, or other GPS based apps on your mobile phone while riding your eBike can be a great way to navigate or track your fitness progress. These apps which rely on your mobile phone GPS can cause fast battery drain, however.

Using the built-in USB port on the Denago Fat Tire eBike, it's possible to power your iPhone or Android device from the eBike main battery while you ride. Here's how to set it up:

Use the Denago Fat Tire eBike USB port to charge your mobile phone while riding

Choose from one of two methods that power up the USB port and make charging possible.

Method #1

  1. Start with the eBike powered off.
  2. Remove the rubber boot covering the USB port - you can find it on the bottom of the display. It has a built-in "leash" so it can hang freely when not in use.
  3. Plug in your charging cable and device.
  4. Power up the eBike, the USB port will now be active and you can see the "charging" icon or indicator on your device.

Method #2

  1. If your eBike is already powered on (for example, you want to start charging mid-ride)
  2. Remove the rubber boot covering the USB port - you can find it on the bottom of the display. It has a built-in "leash" so it can hang freely when not in use.
  3. Plug in your charging cable and device.
  4. On the handlebar remote, press the "up", "down", and "power/mode" buttons all at the same time.
  5. The USB port is now active and you can see the "charging" icon or indicator on your device.

With the USB port on your Denago Fat Tire eBike turned on, you can now power a variety of devices that charge or operate over USB. When you're done riding, don't forget to remove the charging cable and replace the rubber cover that protects the USB port from dirt, water, or debris.

Happy riding!
