The primary difference between the Magnum Scout and the Denago Fat Tire eBikes is the sensing technology used. The Magnum Scout (like most eBikes in this price range) uses a cadence sensor, while the Denago Fat Tire uses an upgraded torque sensor.
Torque sensors are a better choice for riding on off-road surfaces like dirt, grass, and gravel, because they are more responsive to the rider's pedaling input.

- Magnum uses a twist grip throttle, vs. the thumb throttle on the Denago. While these will both engage the throttle system identically, some riders might prefer one style to another.
- The Magnum Scout uses a unique, upgraded center-mount kickstand vs. the traditional side-mounted kickstand on the Denago Fat Tire. This type of kickstand is a nice upgrade and can help keep your eBike upright, especially when you are loaded with heavy cargo.
Which fat tire eBike should you buy?
Features like the color display with USB output, faster charger, larger battery, and most importantly, torque sensing technology mean that the Denago Fat Tire outperforms the Magnum Scout in almost every area, and it sells for $400 less as well.
The Magnum Scout has two key advantages - an included rear rack and center-mount kickstand, but these aren't enough to justify a $400 price difference. It's easy to add a rear rack to the Denago for riders who want to carry cargo, or swap the kickstand if desired. These upgrades cost about $100.
