Denago's Commute Model 1 and Magnum's Metro X and Navigator X eBikes are firmly aimed at the bicycle commuter market. Each is packed with convenience features to improve your experience riding to work or school.

Which commuter eBike should you buy?

The Denago Commute Model 1, Magnum Metro X, Magnum Navigator X are very closely matched in price, speed, and range capabilities. Each can get you to work without breaking a sweat.

Key spec upgrades on the Denago include the superior color display, better drivetrain (vs. the Metro X), and integrated battery (vs. the Metro X.) While the more modern Navigator X does add an integrated battery and 8 speed drivetrain, matching the Denago, it's also $200 more, and has wheels and tires that aren't as good, as well as a slower charger. That's important to consider if you're trying to charge your eBike during the day before your evening commute.

Shorter or taller riders will also find the two sizes offered on the Denago Commute Model 1 do a better job of fitting them than the "one size fits all" approach of the two Magnum models.

The two Magnum models do have a nice feature for riding at night the Denago lacks - active brake lights that light up when you squeeze the brake lever. Denago's Fat Tire eBike offers this feature, but not the Commute Model 1. They also have many color choices, while the Denago comes in a single color for the Top tube version, and another color for the Step-thru version.
